Bauerfeind Scientific Phlebology Award of the IUP
International jury chooses outstanding study design in compression therapy , 11.04.2005
The international jury judging the designs is composed of Prof. Dr. Hugo Partsch from Austria, Past President of IUP and Chairman of the jury, Dr. Albert-Adrien Ramelet, Switzerland, IUP Vice President, Prof. Dr. H.A. Martino Neumann, the Netherlands, Prof. Christine J. Moffatt, Great Britain, Dr. med. Horst Gerlach, Germany, MD Dr. Jorge Ulloa-Dominguez, Colombia, and MD Robert A. Weiss, USA.
The company supports research projects in the field of compression therapy not without good reason. It is estimated that about 90 percent of German adult population suffers from venous disorder. About 128,000 cases of deep leg vein thrombosis are diagnosed every year. Only an early and systematic treatment helps to prevent such disorders from advancing. Compression therapy is the basic treatment.

The Bauerfeind Scientific Phlebology Award of the IUP is endowed with EURO 20,000 Euro and will be given in two parts of EURO 10,000 each.
