The request for proposal for the 3rd Bauerfeind Scientific Phlebology Award presented by the International Union of Phlebology and Bauerfeind Phlebology has aroused broad interest. Meeting the deadline of May 31st interesting applications for study designs from, e.g., Slovenia, France, Austria and Switzerland were filed.

Numerous new developments can be expected in compression therapy in the next few months as the World Congress of the International Union of Phlebology (IUP) will show, which will be held in Rio de Janeiro from 2nd to 7th October. Prof. Dr. Hugo Partsch is Past President of IUP and member of the jury of the 3rd Bauerfeind Scientific Phlebology Award (BSPA). As head of the dermatology department of the Wilhelminenspital hospital in Vienna, Prof. Partsch has developed the department into a centre for phlebological and angiological diseases.

The International Union of Phlebology and Bauerfeind Phlebology present the 3rd Bauerfeind Scientific Phlebology Award of the IUP. Interested young scientists have only four weeks left to send in a study design on compression therapy.

International jury chooses outstanding study design in compression therapy , 11.04.2005
The international jury judging the designs is composed of Prof. Dr. Hugo Partsch from Austria, Past President of IUP and Chairman of the jury, Dr. Albert-Adrien Ramelet, Switzerland, IUP Vice President, Prof. Dr. H.A. Martino Neumann, the Netherlands, Prof. Christine J. Moffatt, Great Britain, Dr. med. Horst Gerlach, Germany, MD Dr. Jorge Ulloa-Dominguez, Colombia, and MD Robert A. Weiss, USA.
